Portraits & Encounters: At the Heart of the Mediterranean

This guide retains the iconic portraits of Mallorca—from ceramist Joan Pere Català Roig to oceanographer Jose Escaño, as well as Deborah Piña Zitrone, specialist in Majorcan gastronomy—and is now enriched with three new stories dedicated to Menorca.

Three personalities who embody the soul of the island:

  • Laura Ruiz Mercadal, salt worker at the Salines de la Concepción,
  • The duo Eva Albarrán & Christian Bourdais, gallerists passionate about the dialogue between art and landscape,
  • Gabriel Gonzalez Andrade, committed chef, dedicated to Minorcan culinary heritage.

These local voices tell, each in their own way, of a territory experienced through encounter and transmission.

Addresses have been updated and refined: new workshops, intimate dining spots, galleries, and confidential accommodations join the selection.

Discover the hotel Son Blanc, the Galería Cayón, and the shop Tabouret—three places that perfectly embody the AWA spirit: human, inspiring, and deeply rooted in their territory.

True to its original spirit, the guide highlights places on a human scale, rooted in their territory, championed by those who reveal their beauty.
